Music Workshop

Music Workshop

A group of young people took part in a three day music workshop at the Bridge Centre in Haddington. They got to try out a selection of instuments including drums and guitars. They also tried their hand at D-Jing. They made a CD using all the new skills they had learned over the three days. Scott and Sean have writen about what they did in this workshop....

The music project is a three day course that runs in the Bridge Centre in Haddington. I found it a nice and well organised workshop. What I found useful was learning about the D-Jing equipment and knowing more about it, so that I can have more of a conversation with my friends on that topic. Also I was playing various instruments that I had no idea how to play prior to my visit. The staff working with our group were 'sound' and quite patient with a mere novice such as myself.

Finally, I would like to encourage people who are interested in music and D-jing to definitely experience it. I have no interest in music and here's me complimenting the course. A good consolation is that you get to take a CD home at the end of the course, so what's there to lose? it's free after all!

Sean at the Music Workshop

I went to a music programme at the Bridge Centre in Haddington. I played the drums and recorded it. I was shaking when I was trying to use the pedal on the bass because I was scared. Derek and Ian put some guitars on my track. When I heard my track played back to me I was jumping for joy. I learnt how to play three chords on the keyboard. They were C,E and G. Gary taught me how to play the chords, it was quality. We recorded a dance track. I was with Megan, Kirsty and Steven I really liked recording it.
