Work
A new job can be great for getting you more money and more confidence but getting the job in the first place can be quite scary. At there Bridges Project there are people who can help you- from getting the skills you need, to writing a CV, to getting you a placement to give you more experience.
Kyle's Work Placement
I have started working at Harleyhill Day Centre which is a garden centre in Prestonpans. I've been working two half-days a week for two weeks and am now getting a review to check my progress.
In my two weeks I've learnt how to prick lobelia - you get a tray filled with soil and have to make 15 small holes in it and then plant the baby lobelias.
I've also learnt how to pot plants and the names of the plants. There are thousands of plants at the nursery - in pots and hanging baskets.
The plant below is called Bird of Paradise.
This plant is very jaggy and they used to use the needles of the plant for sewing.
I've really enjoyed my time so far, it's good meeting new people and getting my hands dirty!
