Volunteer Volunteer

Ever thought of helping out with something really worthwhile? Volunteering is a great way to get to know people and to get a valuable experience too.

Have a look at some of these articles to get an idea of what it's all about, then drop us a line to let others know what you're involved in.

Community Service Volunteers (CSV)

CSV is a national organisation which provides volunteering opportunities for young people throughout the UK.

If you think you would like to do some volunteering you can arrange a meeting to discuss what you would like to get out of it and where your interests lie.. They strive to find a placement that suits what you want to do - this may be 2 hours a week to 2 days to a full week, it all depends on what you want to do, the time you have available and what you're comfortable with.

Once you have been matched up with a potential placement they will go along with you for a visit to check out what you would be doing, meet the people who work there and get an idea of what it would be like. If you decide to go ahead with the placement CSV will go through all the arrangements - travel, days and times, expenses, contact names etc with you and you will sign a Volunteer Agreement so that everyone knows what is expected.

They provide a great support network for you and will meet up with you regularly to check how you are getting on in your placement.
