Mother Goose

Mother Goose

We set off to go and see Mother Goose at the King's Theatre in Edinburgh by getting the 44 bus to the West End, and then changed onto the number 11 which took us up to the King's Theatre. Our seats were the second row from the back but we had a good view.

We met Mary McCusker at the theatre, who is an actor, who explained a lot about the history of the King's Theatre.

The first half of Mother Goose was great and seemed to fly in really fast. The basic story is about Mother Goose and her magic goose who lays golden eggs. This, in turn, makes Mother Goose rich. The problem that follows is that Mother Goose wants to be beautiful and thin, but this is one of the loopholes she can't let the money change her.

The story goes on and Mother Goose gets herself into more trouble. Gill and Macfly go on to help Mother Goose and the pantomime ends happily. I felt the pantomime was really funny and adults and children could go and both enjoy it.

There were a lot of set changes and we managed to get a tour after the show finished. This wat great as we got a little insight into the way the theatre works and what types of jobs there are within the theatre.
