Poetry
So what's the point of poetry? Is it a bunch of boring words or a great way to get across what you really think and feel? The best poetry isn't about flowers and rainbows and words that rhyme. It's about people's passions and fears and hopes and dreams.
Here's what some other people think about it.
Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
Robert Frost
Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is a speaking picture.
Simonides
Poetry gives you permission to feel

Leaves of Life
Softly the leaves of my memory fall,Slowly I gather and count them all,
There's memories of every kind,
They float around and engulf my mind
Thoughts of a happy childhood scream,
Memories of the most distant dreams,
Recollections of times when things went amiss,
And flashbacks of times of perfect bliss.
The voices of my life speak clear,
Those who have told me what I needed to hear,
Those who have tried to show me the right path to walk,
People who have influenced my life with their talk.
Memories of far fetched ambition,
When I could simply sit dreaming and wishing,
The memories of those that I loved and are gone,
Precious memories that help me push on.
These leaves are my past and though some float away,
Most are locked in my head and heart to stay.
They're safely under lock and key,
Because living these memories is what's made me!
