Health

Want to get a bit fitter??

Ever been running for the bus or going up the stairs and thought it would be so much better if you could manage it without running out of breath and sweating??

Well why not come along to Bridges on a Wednesday at 2pm where we'll do some exercise and look at easy ways to stay healthy. You could try aerobics, badminton, football, basketball, you name it we'll try it.

How to calculate your BMI

  1. Work out your height in metres and multiply the figure by itself.
  2. Measure your weight in kilograms
  3. Divide the weight by the height squared (ie. the answer to Q1.)

For example you might be 1.6m (5 feet 3 inches) tall and weigh 65kg (10 stone). The calculation would then be:

1.6 x 1.6 = 2.56. BMI would be 65 divided by 2.56 = 25.39.

Great so what do I do with this number?
The table below shows you what your bmi means
