FAIRY CAKES - Makes 12 cakes
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 12 minutes
What's in it?
- 125 grams of butter
- 125 grams of caster sugar
- 125 grams of self raising flour
- 2 eggs lightly beaten
- 2 table spoons of milk
Stuff you need
- 12 cake cases
- a bun tin
- mixing bowl
- wooden spoon
- small bowl
- metal table spoon
- sieve
What to do
- Preheat the oven to gas mark 5 or 190 degrees centigrade
- Place the paper cases in the bun tin
- In a mixing bowl beat the butter and sugar using a wooden spoon until fluffy and pale
- Beat the eggs in a small bowl then slowly add them to the butter and sugar mixture
- Then sift in half the flour and fold (like a figure of 8 movement with the spoon) it in with a metal spoon
- Add the milk and the rest of the flour and keep foling until well mixed
- Spoon the mixture into cases and bake for 12 minutes or until risen with a golden top
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes then ice as you like or eat as is!
