Tips for successful cooking

  1. Always wash your hands before handling food.
  2. Always wash fruit and veg before using.
  3. Refrigerate cooked foods for a maximum of 3 days.
  4. Check freezer for maximum time for freezing foods.
  5. Always use plastic c ontainers with lids in freezer.
  6. Check the 'sell by' date on any food before buying or using.
  7. Wash tea towels and dish cloths regularly.
  8. Store raw meat away from cooked meat on the bottom shelf of the fridge.
  9. Wash your hands after touching high risk foods, e.g. eggs, meat.
  10. Put rice in sieve and run under cold water until water runs clear to remove starch.
