Tips for successful cooking
- Always wash your hands before handling food.
- Always wash fruit and veg before using.
- Refrigerate cooked foods for a maximum of 3 days.
- Check freezer for maximum time for freezing foods.
- Always use plastic c ontainers with lids in freezer.
- Check the 'sell by' date on any food before buying or using.
- Wash tea towels and dish cloths regularly.
- Store raw meat away from cooked meat on the bottom shelf of the fridge.
- Wash your hands after touching high risk foods, e.g. eggs, meat.
- Put rice in sieve and run under cold water until water runs clear to remove starch.
