Independent Living
Here at Bridges Project we recognise that moving towards independent living is a daunting prospect. Part of the homemaker job is to prepare young people for that move. We run the Tenancy Award which is a certified course that can give young people the tools to manage their own tenancy, as well as providing prospective landlords with evidence that the young person is equipped with skills such as household safety, budgeting, cleanliness and tidiness, managing their front door and good neighbour relations.
Managing your tenancy
If you are living independently and finding some of your core skills need brushing up the homemaker service can work with you on any household issues you are finding difficult, like getting the best deal from fuel providers, managing your money or debts, cook and eat nutritious food on a budget and be a responsible tenant. The homemaker can work with you individually or you could join one of our cooking or independent living skills groups.
