Inspiring young people to build a confident future

What We Do

It is evident to everyone working at Bridges Project that the vast majority of young people who use our services do not have typical pathways through childhood and adolescence.

A ‘one-size fits all’ methodology does not work for young people referred to us. Personal obstacles are too difficult to manoeuvre round and structural barriers too high to climb over without personalised support being in place.  We aim to provide a mix of one-to-one and group work packages of support which are tailored to the needs of individuals and are responsive to their goals and aspirations.  Providing effective, relevant and meaningful interventions can only work if young people are engaged, trusting and willing to make the changes required to improve their lives. Although they may use a number of our services, individuals will work most closely with a named worker who will act as a guide and advocate in their dealings with other staff at Bridges Project and with organisations in the wider community.

Our services are clustered in to four teams to deliver our individual support packages. They collaborate closely to provide a comprehensive groupwork programme in our premises, in schools and other community settings.

The three teams are:

Way2Work East Lothian Team

Way2Work#CashBack Team

Transitions Team

Skills for Life Team
