Employability Support
Personal Development Worker - East Lothian and Midlothian
The personal development workers work with young people to increase their employability skills. In particular the PDW workers can provide:

Assistance with exploring and considering all the options available

Action planning and goal setting with continuous assessment

Help with making decisions about the future, taking into account all the individuals personal and structural barriers

Support for self-travel

Opportunities to learn employability skills in a variety of settings

Help to build up a portfolio of evidence

Collaboration with and connections to other useful agencies
-
Help with making the most of opportunities outwith the local area
-
Support through the transition from unemployment or low skilled, poorly paid employment into a better destination

Preparation of a CV
-
Support and learning how to deal with application forms and covering letters

Help with managing interviews
