Personal Tutor

The Personal Tutor works with young people to increase their literacy and numeracy skills as well as their broader education thereby increasing their confidence and employability. In particular the Personal Tutor can provide assistance with:

  • Reading: including comprehension
  • Writing: including spelling, expressing thoughts, punctuation, form filling
  • Speaking: including expressing themselves clearly
  • Numeracy: including having a sense of number, counting, multiplication and division, fractions and percentages, weighing and measuring, working with money, using a calculator, telling the time and reading and interpreting tables and charts
  • Basic IT: including use of computers, email, internet, mobile phones

 

The service is delivered on a one-to-one basis and, occasionally when circumstances permit, in small groups.
